SwagTron T3 Hoverboard Review

It has a longer range than Swagway’s previous hoverboards, which now runs at 8 miles per hour depending on the rider’s weight, terrain, temperature, and driving style. And although they indicated the shell casing as ‘scratch-resistant’, it can still get scratched easily when it gets bumped on concrete or other rough surfaces. However, the hoverboard comes with stick-on rubber strips that can be attached to the chassis to prevent further scratching, so that is a good thing.

According to a review by PCMag, they classified the SwagaTron T3 as more of a ‘party device’ than a transportation. Therefore, it is great to use in parks and for strolling through the streets but not for actual commuting.

Controls and Connectivity

You can control and monitor the hoverboard via Bluetooth using an Android or iOS app, which also comes with a battery meter and a speedometer. The app lets you control control steering sensitivity, speed, and acceleration so you can adjust the smoothness of the ride. The Bluetooth speaker can play music from your phone, but it is separate from the board itself so you may not be able to play it while it is still connected to the board.

Safety Measures

The Swagatron T3 hoverboard is tested and certified by Underwriters’ Laboratories (UL) under UL 2272, Electrical Systems for Self-Balancing Scooters. It evaluates the safety of the battery and charger system combinations, and the electrical drive train system. UL has long been guaranteeing the safe manufacture, handling, and the use of batteries, power supplies, and materials.

However, UL is not responsible for testing the reliability, performance, and rider safety. That is why they are urging consumers to take the following proper precautions that should be taken when buying self-balancing scooters.

Before buying an electronic scooter, make sure that it is UL certified by looking for the UL mark on the packaging        and the UL holographic certification label with Enhanced Mark on the bottom of the product.

Keep the scooter away from flammable materials while charging it.

Overcharging is not advisable. Follow the manufacturer’s recommended charging time.

Only use the charger that is packed with the scooter.

In the event of an accident, leave the area and call 911. Use a fire extinguisher with precaution since most battery chemical fires are hazardous.

Follow all of the manufacturer’s safety guidelines and wear all the recommended personal protective gear.

Be on the lookout for counterfeit certification stickers because it could be harmful since the product is not guaranteed safe by experts. Also keep in mind that some places do not allow the use of self-balancing scooters in public areas and streets, so it is best to use your hoverboards in areas where it is legal (such as private parks).
